Q: Does a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon have a mircochip in the key?
My girlfriend wants to get a remote starter in her car and i heard that you can't have a mircochip in the key to have a remote start installed. Is this true and does the tibruon have a microchip in the key

A: No, the key does not have a chip. I cannot answer the remote start question. .

Q: Can the 2008 Hyundai Tiburon SE be equipped with the spercharger kit?
If it can tell me where i can get it somewhere around Gilbert, Arizona 85233...

A: http://ngmhouseofpower.com/product_info.php?products_id=34 theres a link to supercharge kits for the tiburon. Im sure the 08 COULD be equipped with one, problem is that it's too new of a car for a supercharger kit to be offered specifically for an 08. you are probably looking at late next year, or early 2010 before one is offered. Now, you could always call the company and see if it will work on the 08. I would imagine it could, only if hyundai hasn't changed anything under the hood in the past few years....

Q: Best car? 2008 hyundai tiburon gs, 2008 mitsubishi eclipse gs, 2009 mitsubishi lancer es sport?
Which of these three is the best in terms of.. performance, reliability, insurance rate, design, and resale/trade-in value after about 5+ years? answering any of these specifications will help. thanks in advance

A: Among these three, I would give the performance, insurance rate, reliability, design, and resale/trade-in to the 09 Lancer ES Sport. The 08 Eclipse looks good on the outside but when you sit inside the car you can't see all around you clearly, huge blind spot. higher insurance rate than the lancer and the Tibby. The Tibby is just another racer wannabe. So many exterior designs taken from others' top selling cars.

Q: Hyundai Tiburon?
how much would it cost to customize a new 2007/2008 tiburon to be a convertible or would that even be possible?

A: The roof panel is actually part of the structure of the car as well as the "A" pillars that hold the windshield in. The only way to complete this sort of mod is "shore" up the body of the car before cutting off the roof panel. I've done this on a permanent convertable "roadster" new VW beetle. No retractable top installed. Had to weld "U" channel from front to rear and cross brace it to both sides in order to keep the car from flexing in and clamping the doors shut. (The car was a roll-over and the owner still wanted it to be useable) The A pillars are another concern as they may not be strong enough to hold the windshield at its current angle when you're going 60-70 MPH. It may flex enough to break unless you find a visually pleasing way to strengthen the pillars also. Sounds like a lot of trouble but if you're willing to do it, you'd be the only Tiburon Convertible on the road. I'd put the cost at around $4000 to $6000 unless your a great metal fabricator.

Q: Hyundai Gas Mileage?
I was looking at buying a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon, and while I was looking at the stickers on the other vehicles, I notices that the six cylinder Hyundai SUV's have a better gas mileage than the four cylinder, manual transmission (and of course automatic) Tiburon. Can anyone explain this? The employees at the dealer couldn't answer my question.

A: The numbers are close, but that's not quite true. The small SUV Hyundai Tucson V6 is rated at 18/24, the Tiburon V6 manual is rated 17/24. The manual I4 Tiburon is rated at 20/28 while the I4 manual Tucson is rated at 20/25. The Tiburon is about 300 pounds lighter then the Tucson. The Santa Fe with 3.3L V6 automatic also gets 17/24. The reason for this is...the 2.7L V6 is an old engine that needs to be phased out. Also, some of the Hyundai's still have 4-speed automatics, a 5-speed automatic will gain you 1-2 MPG, the 3.3L Santa Fe has that versus the 2.7L Santa Fe rated at 18/24. What's even odder, the Tiburon 6-speed manual is rated 1MPG less then the 5-speed manual. The 2010 Genesis coupe (tiburon replacement?) will be coming out in late 2008/early 2009 and has a turbo charged I4 or 3.8L V6 engine options. BTW, I drive the 5-speed automatic 3.8L V6 Azera rated at 17/26 weighing 700 pounds more then the Tiburon, best car I've ever driven/owned.

Q: Mustang V6 vs Tiburon V6?
After tons of researching and looking at local dealerships, I've came up with the final car choices. \_- Mustang vs Tiburon -_/ I don't know how mustangs drive in the winter/rain, so I need some advice. They are both V6 engines, but of course the mustang has about 40 more hp. The tiburon is front wheel drive, and has better mileage. The mustang is rear wheel, but has the v6 pony package, safety equip, etc. Which one is a better choice?!! 2008 Mustang v6 - http://www.mullinaxdealers.com/index.cfm?vehicle=2008_Ford_Mustang&action=InventorySearch&subaction=SearchDetailNew&InventoryID=16126674&inventorytype=New OR THE 2008 Hyundai Tiburon v6 - http://www.driveclassicvw.com/New_Car_Cleveland_OH.html P.S. I need a good observation by today, the discounts end by the evening for the mustang!

A: Funny thing, the Tiburon is Hyundai's take on the iconic Mustang... Which to buy? Depends upon a few things: If you live in a snowy climate, the Tiburon will save your butt when the roads get slick. The Mustang has more of a tendency to slide because of the rear wheel drive. Newer ones are better, but the Tiburon will outdo the 'Stang in snow. They're both a V6, so gas mileage will be about the same, no matter what the salespeople or the EPA says. Parts are probably cheaper for the Mustang.when repair time comes around. The warranty is longer on the Tiburon, but if you trade every couple years, that won't matter. Insurance will be about the same but may be higher for the 'Stang becuase of the way that most people drive them. How many car thieves are stealing Tiburons these days? Personally, I'd be torn between the two, but the Tiburon would probably be the way to go. Make a good choice for yourself.

Q: Buying a new car, can I negotiate the price?
I'm buying a 2008 Hyundai tiburon from a Hyundai dealership. The MSRP is $18,125 (automatic) and the car comes with a $1000 rebate. Can I ask them to lower the price? If so, what should I aim for? Also, they do financing with no down payment. What interest rate you think would be fair these days for a good credit?

A: im not sure on hyundia's mark up but on a 18k car its probably 1 - 1.5k. If you can get the car for 16,125 including the rebate thats probably pretty good. If you dont think it is than go to another dealer and tell them what the first dealers offer was and the second dealer should beat it. Just make sure they include EVERYTHING you will be paying for and its on the same car (similar options and price)

Q: Which car would you pick?
Ok, I'm 17 and my parents said that they would buy my first car out of the ones below. 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer 2007/2008 Hyundai Tiburon 2007 Honda Civic 2005 MR2 Spyder I personally want the MR2, but my parents don't want to get me anything that old unless it has a warranty on it. what do you suggest?

A: If you cannot persuade your Parents to buy a homemade American Car, then 2007 Honda Civic

Q: parent problem on cars?
Ok, so my parents want to get me a new car, probably a 2007/2008 Hyundai Tiburon, so I can have it through out college and because it has a 10yr warranty. The only problem is I don't really want that car. I mean its great to get a new car, don't get me wrong, and its really nice looking, but there are cars that I like more, such as the 1994 Nissan 240SX convertible. I also don't want them to buy it for me and I know that sounds weird, but I want to buy my own car so I can appreciate it more, because I paid for it myself. They also don't want me to buy my own car because it would take away from my "college spending money". I have about 4G's in the bank now and I know I have enough to buy one. This why I need help. How can I convince my parents to let me buy my own car of the kind I want? Thanks, BDD

A: The new car offer is a nice gesture on your parents part--have you actually discussed the issue of a different car purchased by you??4 grand is not a lot of money--you can use that up quickly on a junky used car despite what they say about how good it is. Rutgers is in our town and cars get vandalized all the time--especially convertibles and those pimped out cars with beer can mufflers--they are destroyed here. Your parents are offering a car that does not draw attention to itself for stealing, unless you leave crap inside so people can see it. Go with the plain car for a while--save your 4 grand and be concentrating on college so you can buy a cooler car in 4 years. You'll be glad you did down the road. Good luck in school

Q: duct tape on car muffler?
i drive a 1994 plymouth sundance... i call it a 1994 plymouth shitbox. i absolutely hate it my car. although in april/may i will be getting a 2008 hyundai tiburon. cant wait anyways my exhaust pipe is cracked in half in 2 places now. it was cracked in half closer towards the muffler tip... i have a bracket sort of holding them together, but exhaust still leaks. today the pipe cracked in half half clsoer towards the catylic converter. a nice clean solid crack. i was wondering... would alot of duct tape around the 2 pieced do the trick? i was thinking of using most likely a full roll and just taping that shit up. haha would it work?

A: Quote.... " i drive a 1994 plymouth sundance... i call it a 1994 plymouth shitbox. i absolutely hate it my car. although in april/may i will be getting a 2008 hyundai tiburon. cant wait " That is so funny! Is like leaping from the frying pan to land on the fire itself. From a shitbox to another shitbox.... Good one, you made me laugh...

Q: CARS 4 a Teen!! -Pics Inside!-?
Okay, so I am choosing cars for when I am getting one but not exactly sure on what kind to get but ive come down to these choices. So help me out. Also, tell me whatever color you think I should get it in. My favorite colors are Red, Black, Silver ----> http://www.top100musclecarsites.com/pictures/hyundai-sonata.jpg [Hyundai Sonata] ----> http://us.autos1.yimg.com/img.autos.yahoo.com/ag/hyundai_tiburon_gs_2008_exterior_4_346x270.jpg [Hyundai Tiburon] ----> http://www.thetorquereport.com/08cobaltssturbo_hi001.jpg [Chevy Cobalt] So those are my favoritess=] If you have any other cars or anything like that please post. If so can you post pics or just give enough information so I can look it up=] Thank ya.

A: I really like the Sonata or the Cobalt. But I would get the Sonata (in red) because it doesn't have a spoiler (just my personal preference).

Q: i need help pcking a car?
if you had to pick 1 of this cars which 1 would you buy? 2008 for expedition-$30,620 2007 ford fusion- $17,430 2007 chrysler 300-$25,120 2007 cheverlet cobalt-$13,790 2008 cheverlet impala- $21,940 2007 cheverlet trailblazer- $25,580 2007 altima coupe- $20,490 2007 nissan pathfinder-$25,700 2007 nissan sentra- $15,750 2007 hyundai tiburon- $16,695 2007 honda civic- $14,810

A: Your choices are all over the place. You've got huge SUVs, large 4 door sedans and small 2 door coupes on your list. You need to think about what you need from a car. If you don't need a huge SUV like an Expedition, why even consider it. Your price range goes from $13,000 up to $30,000. Settle on a budget, What can you REALLY afford. Have you even driven any of these cars? If I was considering a Hyundai Tiberon, how could a Chevy Trailblazer even enter into the conversation.

Q: Better Car?
I am a girl/16 and I get my license in April 2008. I want to buy a car, I want it to be a cute car and not big. I have picked out these 5 cars right now but I dont know anything about cars so I dont know which one is better. I want the car to have power windows, cd player, radio, and automatic transmission. I picked the following 5 cars: VW Jetta, Hyundai Tiburon, Pontiac G6 Sedan, Pontiac Soltice, and, Pontiac G5. I do not want to go over $22-25,000. The cheaper the car, the better it is for me, but then if it is cheaper I do no want it to be bad. If the car is better for a extra $2G it is okay. Can anyone help me with which car to pick? And give me their advice on the car(s) if they have used it? Thank You!

A: Not a bad choice of cars, the G6 and G5 Pontiacs are probably your best choice, they are as reliable as the other two but are a bit bigger for when you have friends along. When you have a car at 16 you always have friends that want to come along. If you want better mileage go with the G5, If you want more pep go for the G6. I rented a G6 once and enjoyed it, it was a fun little car.
