Q: 2005 Hyundai Tiburon with Infinity system. Where is the disc changer installed. says right quarter trim?
I bought the car used but the original sticker was still in the glove box and it said it had the disc changer (not the in-dash though). Where the heck is it? might be in trunk, but it says in manual to remove right quarter panel to get to it. where is the right quarter panel?

A: On the right side of the trunk, there should be a space to open up with the CD changer.

Q: Why is my airbag light on? I have a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon and my airbag light just went on out of nowhere.?

A: it could be a broken wire in the steering wheel that connects to the air bag, a seat belt buckle sensor that cant detect if its clipped in, a computer that just shorted out. either way, it has to go to a mechanic.

Q: 2005 Hyundai Tiburon - LOTS of questions - What size amp kit should I purchase?
I own two 15" PUNCH HE2 Rockford Fosgate Subwoofers model RFP4215. Subwoofer info: •dual 4-ohm voice coil design •frequency response 22-400 Hz •power range 125-500 watts RMS (each voice coil handles 250 watts RMS) •peak power 1,000 watts •sensitivity 87 dB •top mount depth 7-9/16" •sealed box volume 2.0-4.0 cubic feet •ported box volume 2.0-4.0 cubic feet Will these sound ok in a sealed box? I have an Excursion Amplifier HVX 1500D 2000 WATTS MAX POWER (.667 OHM CAPABLE). Is this amp good enough to push these speakers to the max? (http://www.hollywooddigitalusa.com/ex_am... Will the amp I have work with the subs I have... I have to buy an AMP kit ASAP... what kind do I purchase? Will these fit and sound good in my trunk? 15" TRUCK WEDGE AUDIO SUBWOOFER SUB SPEAKER BOXES... becuase I have a hatchback the space is limited... these are really "thin" http://i8.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/a1/f2/2bfa_1_b.JPG measeurements: ONE PAIR 15" BOXES BOX MEASUREMENTS LENGTH 20 INCHES BOTTOM DEPTH 8.5 INCHES TOP DEPTH 5.5 INCHES HEIGHT 16.75 INCHES THESE BOXES HAVE .96 CUBIC FEET OF AIR SPACE IN THE CHAMBERS THIS ENCLOSURE WILL FIT SUBWOOFERS WITH 5 3/4 INCHES OFDEPTH OR LESS. 5/8 MDF INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION COMPUTER TUNED ENCLOSURE CHARCOAL GRAY INDUSTRIAL GRADE CARPET SPRING LOADED SPEAKER TERMINALS RECESSED END PLATES SEALED CHAMBER FOR TIGHT BASS

A: The boxes are crap. For 15" subs, you need at least 3/4" if not 1" MDF. There is too much pressure in a sealed box for 5/8", it just won't last very long. If your amplifier is rated true, it has the possibility of pulling 166 amps at 12 volts. This is too much for 4 gauge. I would go with 0 gauge wire (good to over 200 amps). This leaves some room for an additional 4 channel amplifier later on if you want to add on. I would also do the big 3 upgrade. The amplifier will have to be set properly, it may be a bit too much, so some careful gain settings are required.

Q: I want to know the best thing to modify on my Hyundai 2005 se v6 tiburon first?
I want to add a turbo or super charger. So i dont want to buy two mufflers now then have to replace them, when I buy the parts required for a turbo boost. can I improve performance now and be able to apply these parts to the super charger later.

A: Do not modify your car if its under warranty -- a lot of modifications will make it void. First of all, you need to decide how fast you want to go. Amateurs will always go for small, cheap upgrades to their cars. Like new exhaust (cat-back), air intake, etc. If you ask me, its just a waste of money. First of all, adding an entire cat-back system is a big waste if you already have an exhaust extension that is about 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Cat-Back stands for 'from catalytic converters to the back of the car'. In simple words, its just mufflers and pipes. Your exhaust already has the pipes, and making the exhaust even bigger than what is needed is a waste of money and can even slow you down. Switching to a muffler with less chambers will increase the sound and also give you some more HP. Most popular performance mufflers are the 2 chamber flowmasters. Less air restriction and better flow will give you...what...like 2HP. Is it worth it? No, not really. What really chokes a car after the engine spits out the fumes are the catalytic converters. Off-roaders don't have them, but its illegal for you to not have them. Do you really want acid raining on your car? I don't think so. You can't get a car (legally) without catalytic converters to pass an emissions test, but changing your muffler doesn't make a difference. That's why people go for the new mufflers. Actually no, most people change their mufflers for the added 'sound' effect. A much better way to improve airflow is to get performance catalytic converters that pass emissions tests. The Bassani X-pipe is a good example, and its worth around 5-20HP depending on your car. But it also costs $500. So go ahead, spend 100$ on new mufflers or even 250$ on a brand new cat-back for the 2-5HP and the sounds. I would much prefer multiplying that by 10 and paying twice as much. Getting better headers (the piece that comes right out of the engine and goes into the converters) will also help you more than getting new exhaust, but this also costs more due to the mechanic work required. You can probably install a new exhaust system yourself if mechanically inclined. What's the point of trying to squeeze out a lot of fumes if not much of them are produced? Even before going into the exhaust, you need to think about getting more air into the engine. You can try to squeeze more air into the engine by getting a larger throttle body and mass air intake. New throttle body will cost you about $200, and a new Mass Air Intake about $300-$500 depending on the make. Edelbrock has some great throttle bodies, and Pro-M is a good brand for mass air. Or you can go for the cheap method of doing things, and build yourself a nice little cold air intake. Most stock engines get the required air from under the hood, where the temperature is quite high. Using nothing but heat-resistant plumbing supplies, you can direct air from the fender-well into the air filter (and go buy a performance filter if you haven't already). Cold air will mean better explosion inside the pistons, and thus your car will go slightly faster. Or if you want your engine to look cool, you can just buy a ram air kit for about $100-$200. If you want to spend even more money, specially designed ram-air hoods pull air from the top of the car into the engine. Anyway, these are some of the cheap things you can do to increase the amount of air that goes into your car. My favorite do it at home is a home made ram air kit, and it doesn't even cost anything. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't bother with it otherwise. The HP gain from the prementioned intake upgrades are about 20-30HP. Ok, so you now have a lot of air that goes into the car, now you need to make sure it comes out as freely as it flows in. NOW you need a new exhaust or new mufflers, not before. Remember, the more air that goes into the engine, more air that needs to come out. Exhaust upgrades should follow intake upgrades. Regardless, you can spend around $2k on intake and exhaust, and all you will get is going to be about 100HP. And I am being very, very optimistic (forget it if you start out with a small engine). Being more realistic, probably you will end up with about 50HP more. Don't waste your money, and go for the mother of all upgrades before doing anything else. Yes, get yourself a supercharger. A simple bolt on supercharger that replaces your intake can give you around 100HP depending on the stock HP output of your car. Superchargers are used for literally forcing air into the engine, and provide the highest bolt on upgrade available for any car. (Turbocharger is also the same thing as a Supercharger, except one takes the air from the exhaust while the other one takes it from the engine area Depending on the potential and make, Supercharger will cost somewhere around $2k all the way up to $4k. Ok, I wrote this in the wrongest possible way -- starting from the last thing to do going to the first thing you need to do. If you want, read this again starting from the previous paragraph going to the first. Most people start upgrading their car from the exhaust, and then going onto intake. Not many people put superchargers under their hood due to the cost. In addition, adding a supercharger will require better fuel pumps and spark. Fuel pump should be the biggest priority here. And the last piece (consider it a carry on) is going to be a modified super-chip. A new computer that will adjust spark times, fuel input, and the air that goes into the engine depending on your modifications. If you run your engine on the old computer, you won't be using all of its potential. If you get all the upgrades I mentioned above on any engine (Supercharger, X-Pipe, 3inch Exhaust, Throttle Body, Headers, Fuel Pump, Wires, Superchip) your car is going to be one mean racing machine. Do not install a nitrous kit. I have seen too many explosions to recommend that one. Who knows, it might be 100% safe to get a 90HP boost, but I personally do not recommend it. All right, despite my advice you still want to go buy cheap stuff and put it into your car. Ok go ahead, but if you are sure you won't get a supercharger, consider changing your underdrive pulleys (ASP has great pulleys). Pulleys will adjust the amount of HP that gets spent on accessories like the AC and alternator. As far as I know, there shouldn't be any problems with this unless you are running a blower. Pulleys, ram-air, and X-pipe are your best bet for performance without a blower. And next time you tune up your car, get better spark plugs and wires. (You can, of course, get a port and polish on the pistons if you really don't want a supercharger, but what's the cost of that? 5k?) That is it from me. I hope I didn't make any mistakes about the mechanics here, for I did try to cover a lot of areas in one little article. Have fun, and cya on the street!

Q: wha would person expect 2 pay 4 a 2005 hyundai tiburon gt with 43,000m..w/a turbo..I cant find any prices 4 1.?
i going to buy one a i needed a price quote but no web listing give a turbo option. what should I expect to pay for one?

A: i would say anywhere from $7,000 to $8,500 depending on how good it looks/features. Turbo does impact the gas mileage though, goes fast, but burns more gas.

Q: I have a 2005 hyundai tiburon GT V6 and the headlights keep going out everytime I turn on my blinker?
Help it did this once last year and then stopped. I will take it to the dealer but I would like to have an idea what is causing it first so it doesn't take two years to get it fixed like it did when the cruise control started changing the radio setting instead of the speed (that was there stupid fault since they plugged the radio in wrong and they wouldn't believe me). Anyway I love my car and need some ideas of why this would suddenly start happening.

A: its the turn signal switch

Q: Im thinking about buying a Hyundai tiburon, should I? is this price cheap for one?
Im looking for a used car and Today I found one. I found a 2005 V6 Hyundai Tiburon SE (the dealer told me its not a GT) it has a max speed of 160mph and it has about 60,000 miles. The price tag is $9,995, is that a reasonable price for one? should I buy it?

A: The price doesn't sound bad.... I am sure you know that you should offer less, say $8,500 and you should get it for about $9,000. Also it does not have a max speed of 160 MPH. I had mine up to 127MPH and still going, but I was at about top speed.

Q: does hyundai make a 2005 tiburon with a stock turbo?

A: Nope, though you can buy a turbo kit on the aftermarket for about $3500 if you have the V6 engine. The new Genesis coupe will have a turbo model, the 1st Hyundai sold in the USA to have a turbo ever. http://www.hyundaiusa.com

Q: Hyundai tiburon, which is better for it a short ram or a cold air intake?
I have a 2005 Tiburon and i am looking to put either a cold air intake or a short ram intake but im not sure which would be best. Im the manager at a repair shop so instalation isnt a problem but i want which ever one would make the car the fastest. I know that the difference is next to none for some engines but it is different in others, which should i chose ???

A: I have heard short ram is better for performance, 4-5hp but cold air is better for milage, but you still get 3-4hp. I don't think there is that much difference to be honest.

Q: Hyundai Tiburon for first car?
would a used 2005 hyundai tiburon be a good first car? Thanks

A: Hi there, yes a tiburon can be a good first car if it is in good order and at a reasonable price, check with the owner if the vehicle has any factory warranty left on it and if there is a full service history available, this is your best assurance that the car has been properly looked after and can save you alot of problems down the track. Also think about your current situation and whether this car will suit your lifestyle and needs, bearing in mind that its a coupe which means access to the rear seats will be restrictive and also that its a v6 which means a higher fuel consumption if you do alot of short trips in city traffic than a smaller four cylinder would. And finally check the price, a 2005 model manual is currently worth between 17-23,000 depending on trim level, gearbox and how many kilometers it has done. Hope this helps.

Q: Price of Hyundai Tiburon?
What will the price of a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT be in 2 years? Good condition.

A: Most likely, around $6,500 to $7,500. Depends on the mileage and exterior appearance.
