Q: I want to supe up my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon! What parts should I buy?
I have someone to put the parts in I just need to know what parts to buy!

A: Assuming you are still stock and the age of the car, I'd suggest buying new drilled brake rotors and performance pads, new shocks/struts, new rims/tires, cold air intake, exhaust, Unorthodox underdrive pulley, lightweight flywheel if you have a manual tranny.

Q: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon,99000 can the timing belt cause transmission noise?
Local mechanic told me this. If you shift from D to N the noise stops and then starts again when back in Drive. THe mechanic said it was one of the timing pulleys. I just dont want to get boned by another mechanic. THanks

A: The Timing belt tensioner could be the problem however I have never sene a timing belt casue noise when changing gears?

A: its possible but its gonna cost you more then your tiburon is worth, so no point of doing it. sell it and buy a car thats stick.

Q: Windshield Wipers/Squirts, Speedometer, Odometer Stopped working for 2001 hyundai tiburon?
I was driving and the windshield wipers, the squirts, and speedomoter and odometer on my tiburon all stopped working at once, shorty afterward, the check engine light went on....what is the issue. im going to check my fuses to see if they all run on the same fuse but what about the engine light?

A: sounds like a fuse issue. your owners manual should have a diagram- check and see if those elements come off the same fuse. try replacing the fuse- a new one will cost you a couple bucks- you can do it yourself before taking the car to the shop

Q: What can i put in my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon (Manuel) to make it faster?

Q: Hyundai Tiburon 2001 ?
OK so i recently bought a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon, 2.0L, Auto tranny, w/ 105,000 miles on it. Was just wondering how much life do you think this car still has? Mileage? Everything is working fine on the car as of now just got it tuned up. Thanks

A: Very opened ended question my friend. There is no 1 answer because every car wears at a different rate and it depends on how much money you are willing to spend on repairs. Your car could go almost forever if you are willing to spend the money on it, or if the transmission died next year you might decide that $2300 is the value of the car and you won't fix it. I have a co-worker who just had the tranny in her Chevy Trailblazer replaced at 55K miles, another co-worker has a Honda Accord with 175,000 miles on it that breaks down every other month costing a couple hundred each time. So, your car could easily go another 50K-100K miles with normal maintenance. There's a reason used cars are cheap, there's an assumption that repairs will be needed after 80-100K miles on the majority of cars. So, good luck and keep taking care of it and hopefully it will keep taking care of you.

Q: Looking for 2001 Hyundai Tiburon Advice?
I want to make my Tiburon sound better....at first I wanted to put a cold air intake because I heard it helps but now I dont know. Can anyone give me some advice.

A: It will give it a great throaty sound and won't make the fart can sound that a cheap muffler will make. I like the sound my intake on my accent makes.

Q: 2001 hyundai tiburon clutch master cylinder problems, how long does it take to fix?

A: well... i have never replaced one but it shouldn't take too long to do. are you planning to do it yourself or have it one somewhere. if you are doing it yourself try bleeding the line for the clutch and make sure the fluid level is full if it has it own resivior, or it its has a line coming off the break fluid container make sure thats full too. good luck

Q: Where is the radio fuse in a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon? ?
I have the stock radio. I looked at the fuses, and they're all fine. I get the hunch that the fuse is behind the radio, perhaps.. If it is, does anyone know how to take out the radio? I just want my radio back. :[

A: I can assure you on a factory radio, the fuse will not be located behind the radio. It'll either be inside the vehicle with all of the other fuses, or under the hood with other fuses. Regardless, check out the owners manual for fuse locations, and then start testing fuses for blown ones with a multimeter, or fuse tester.

Q: how much will it cost $ to put a new (front breaks, front bearing) for 2001 hyundai tiburon. ?
i have no mechanical exprience but need to put this new parts don't know much will it cost. mechanic says he has to see the car frist then. does any one have an idea. thanks

A: To have a shop install pads is about $89, if you need rotors its about $200-$300, wheel bearings is about $85, prices include parts/labor. If the mechanic hasn't even looked at the car, how do you know what parts/work you need done? Go to at least 2 shops and get quotes before having the work done to get the best deal and not more work then is actually needed. If they want to resurface and turn your rotors tell them no thanks, its cheaper to just replace the rotors, under $100 for a pair on ebay for your car.

Q: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon Squeaking?
I have a 2001 Tiburon and every time I start the car till I turn it off it squeaks. I know it is probably a belt but which and how much will it cost to fix? Please help!!

A: Turn off the engine and check the tension on each of the belts. The maximum deflection at the midway point between the two furthest apart pulleys should only be about 1/2 inch. Also check for oil or grease on the belt and check the belt condition. If the belt is clean and in good shape, it should only cost you about 1/2 hour labor to retension it at a local shop. If it's been squeaking for a while, you can count on replacing it for a little more. If your car has a serpentine belt, it will be more expensive.

Q: How Much Would A New Paint Job For A Hyundai Tiburon 2001 Cost?

A: Anywhere from $30.00 for 5 cans of spray paint to north of $10,000 if you would like a multi-hued metallic paint with several coats of clear-coat on top. This assumes you do not need any body work on top of the paint job. Body work can add significantly to the final bill. Phone or visit some body shops in your area to get a more accurate quote but just keep in mind that generally speaking, you get what you pay for.

Q: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon...doesn't start sometimes?
2001 Hyundai Tiburon...doesn't start sometimes? Ok. I have a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon with about 98k miles. Lately, on occasion, it won't start. Most of the time it starts fine, but once in a while, the starter just turns and nothing happens. Sometimes, during these no-starters, giving it some gas gets it to start...but other times, no such luck. When this happens, I can usually wait 5-10 minutes or so and it'll start fine. It seems like there's a correlation between hot/humid days and the starting problems. I don't know if there's any real between the two though...could be just in my head. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem? Thanks.

A: We each have 2001 Tiburons. Hers was acting up as you described. Had the battery checked .. belts alternator All were good. i checked the water level in the battery and one cell was very low. Added distilled water and no problem in over 6 months.

Q: 2001 Hyundai Tiburon, small oil leak? i think?
Yesterday i went to test drive a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon, i loved the car inside and out... but.... under the hood i noticed the bolt i circled in the picture was a little wet, there wasn't enough liquid for me to wipe off and see what it was... after i drove i there was though, it was a tiny bit of oil, what would cause this? should i stay away from the car? i also noticed the windshield wipers move REALLY slow.. unless i just don't know how to use them right.. but my main concern is the little bit of oil coming from this screw.... V http://i37.tinypic.com/x2ny1k.jpg

A: The screw you are referring to is a 'rocker cover' screw... the rocker cover is the black/grey part on the top of the engine that has the Hyundai logo and DOHC 16V. It with the other screws in that part hold a gasket between it and the cylinder head, the screw may just need a little tightening to fix the leak, you may have to replace the screw, or even replace the rocker cover gasket to fix the leak. It's obvious you don't know much about car mechanics, If the car is from a car yard you could say something like "fix the leak and i'll think about it". But if it's a private sale you'll probably have to get it fixed yourself, try talking the seller down a few $ and take it to a reputable mechanic to repair. With the wipers was the windscreen dry or wet??? If dry they would be slow because there is no lubricant(water) to let the rubber wiper slide across the glass, if wet it might just be how they are...slow, check the wipers in another Tiburon and see if they are the same speed. does your slow mean the moved slowly across the screen, or there was a lot of time between each pass of the wipers if lots of time you probably had them set on 'intermittent'.

Q: Radio for 2001 Hyundai Tiburon not working?
I have a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon. I had my cousin put in my own radio. It was working fine, but recently I was having problems with my car battery. I got it fixed and found out some of fuses under the hood were blown. He fixed all the fuses under the hood and the car runs fine now. The only problem is that my radio doesn't turn on now. I think it might be the fuse for the radio is blown. I checked the fusebox under the steering wheel and it looks like all those fuses are fine. Any other reasons why my radio might have stopped working?

A: try checkin the fuse on the radio mrpioneer407@yahoo.com
