Q: What's the normal mileage on a '2000 Hyundai Tiburon'?
just trying to purchase a new car..need to know whats normal mileage!
A: The average mileage an American drives is 12,000 miles per year. Average mileage for this car would be 120,000 miles.
Q: My friend has a Hyundai Tiburon, 2001 for $2000 should i buy it?
He works for a used car place where they fix up cars and sell them... He told me about a great deal for this car but it almost seems too cheap right? I haven't checked the car out yet, but he said it runs good and it will last for a few years... is there some kind of catch along with this car do you think?
A: Sounds like a good deal, you didn't give any details about the engine, mileage, transmission. 1st you need to go take a look at it and then see if it will pass inspection (if your state requires) or at least have another mechanic check the car out for needed maintenance and repairs. Most people spend $2000 as the downpayment on a new car lease, so if it runs for a couple years then its a great find.
Q: 1997 Hyundai Tiburon?
Will a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon headlights fit on a 1997 frame?

A: BUY AMERICAN
Q: I have a 200 hyundai tiburon. Should I replace the timing belt ?
I have a 2000 tiburon, I was driving down the freeway at about 70 when it broke. The car has 172000 miles on it. Its an interferance engine so odds are I have some internal engine, valve or rod damage. The cost to repair the timing belt is approx 450, if there is internal damage it will run 2000 to 3000 depending on what repair is done or if I choose to put a replacement engine in. I'm told that I have to replace the timing belt to determine if the engine is damaged. I think the odds of that damage are high from what I've heard. I also at that point would have to decide to repair the damage or replace the engine. I have had great luck with the car but with that mileage trying to decide where to quit on the repairs, any thoughts?
A: You can try to buy a used engine, they go for under $1000, here's a 2.0 with 23K miles for $850 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ENGINE-HYUNDAI-ELANTRA-TIBURON-03-04-05-06-2-0-AUTO_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33615QQihZ005QQitemZ150254311897QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Cost you about $1000-$1300 in labor to have the engine installed. If there's nothing else wrong with the car it may be worth doing the engine replacement, though if you have the original transmission I have to wonder how many more miles are left before it goes? Transmission would cost just as much to replace. You are probably better off buying another used car then trying to fix your old car, but its up to you now.
Q: what do you think about the Hyundai tiburon?
are they good cars? around how much is a late 90's early 2000 cost?
A: I bought a 2003 Tiburon V-6 in September 2005, and I've had trouble with it since day one. Check out the post I made on 08/04/2006, and this should tell you quiet a bit! My answer, go purchase an American vehicle! I knew I should have listened to everybody here in the states! Too late now! So, I have to deal with it for just a bit longer.
Q: is it possible to hook up a remote wire for my amp to a stock stereo?
I want to know if i can wire my amp with the rem wire to my stock stereo it is a 2000 hyundai tiburon if that helps.
A: Look for a pink/black wire in radio harness. Check it with a volt meter before you use it. Needs to supply +12 volts with radio on. Make sure voltage does not drop out when CD or tape is played.
Q: Hyundai Parts...?
Greetings to the Yahoo! Answers community!
I have recently bought a second gen (2000) Hyundai Tiburon (140 HP model ... is this the FX trim?), and was just wondering where some good Tiburon-specific performance sites are, and is this a very customizable car? I know the newer ones came with 172 horse, and can't help but feel I kind of screwed myself...
Thanks in advance!
A: No do NOT go to SharkRacing, trust me. Worst customer service possible and sometimes items don't even get shipped. I recommend you try going to the RD Tiburon forums at rdtiburon.com
BTW your generation of Tiburon is known as the RD, model years 1997-2001. Since yours is the facelifted one it's referred to as the RD2. Just a little FYI..
Q: How much to transmission syncros cost?
Need to replace the syncro on second gear in my 2000 Hyundai Tiburon (5 speed, 4 cylinder). Depending on RPMs, the grinding is pretty bad. The only halfway descent way to solve this is to give it a second or two in neutral between gear shifts and then yank the shifter down into gear (there's still a quick 'crunch').
How much could this run me?
A: it will be almost cheaper to find a good used transmission than to try to replace parts in this one,the parts aren't that much its the labor that will get you,it will run around 800 probably or more to get this one done, and a good used transmission will only cost about 3-400 bucks, good luck.
Q: Besides your regular auto body place is there someone who just takes dents out of cars?
I don't want to spend a fortune and it looks like it would come out easily. It is a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon, in case you're wondering.
A: Dent Doctor
http://dentdoctor.com/ddnet/
They come out to you and remove small dents. A few friends of mine arranged for the guy to come out to our workplace and work on our cars (door dings). They did a pretty good job.
Q: How do I check the wheel barings (hub assembly)?
How do I check the wheel Barrings (hub assembly) in a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon?
How do I know which one is bad. I get a loud humming from what sounds like the driver side back. but I would like to know if there is a way to tell if the others are bad or going bad as well.
How do I figure out the front from the back?
A: usually if you turn left (load up right side) and hear from right then they are bad, you do have to isolate front or rear though. as far as others if they are quiet and tight they are ok
