Q: Anyone know what size of the 2008 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 L (Manual) drain plug is? I need to buy that tool. ?
I did try with 3/4, 15/16 socket wrench but don't work. Any tips guys?

A: Don't know what size it is, but I do know it is a Metric size, not SAE. Probably between a 12mm and 17mm will fit it.

Q: Does the 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS Manual have the keyless entry remote as standard?

A: Yes, remote keyless is standard on all Hyundai Sonatas. If your's does not have on (alot of used cars lose these for some reason) you can buy one from a Hyundai dealer, but I recommend Ebay. I bought one for $12 on Ebay for my personal car. It will have to be programmed by a dealer, which only takes about 3 minutes.

Q: 2008 Hyundai sonata -Oil change?
Hi, I have a 2008 sonata GLS4. Do we need to take it to a dealer for regular oil change or local auto shop works? Appreciate for your suggestion

A: You can take it to the dealer, take it where you want or do it yourself. Just be sure to keep records of all oil changes so you have proof of the oil changes in case you need engine warrenty work.

Q: Why does the engine in my 2008 Hyundai Sonata rumble/vibrate at 1400-1500 RPM?
I own a 2008 Hyundai Sonata with a V4, and everytime I get up to about 40-43 MPH at 1400-1500 RPM's, the engine starts rumbling really low and stays there unless I speed up or slow down. Are there any mechanics out there who have seen anything like this? Is it normal or should I get it checked out? It's under warranty so getting it fixed wouldn't be a problem. Thank you!

A: i have driven a lot of sonatas also and i have never felt that either. you should go to the dealer for that and have them look at it. tell them you want a mechanic to go for a drive with you so you can show them exactly when it happens and what it feels like. good luck

Q: i buy new hyundai sonata 2008 and its brand new but still i m getting my window frost from inside ?
even if i start my defrost button for winsheild and for back but still i m not getting my back both glass defrost so i cannot see when i want to see back to change the lane so please request you to give me some better answer for my problem

A: i have the same problem with my 2001 accent. it is getting frozen i can't see a dam thing, but for the back their is a button with a white small light with defroster sign u have to push it to on. it's somewhere u have look to find it. once it is on u will notice ur back windshied will get heat start to clear out. but for mine i figured that the air is not blowing on to the front windshield i don't know why i asked people to help. check to insure if it's blowing onto ur windshield feel with ur hand if the heat is coming out at all, something could be blocking it.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Sonata 64,000 Miles; Motor Problems?
my car started making a rattling noise, similar to a loose guard, and now the motor shakes moderately hard when accelerating. when you let off of the accelerator at any speed the shake goes away. the car is also idling a little rough and the check engine light is flashing. this all started the same day and there has been no recent work done to the car. any help is much appreciated. thank you.

A: Could be your spark plug leads, Hyundais are well known for their premature wear of ignition leads. If your Sonata is a V6 model, they have had faults with timing chain guides, which could be a possible cause of the rattling noise. But anything said on here is pure specuation and the best suggestion is to get your car to your nearest Hyundai dealer to get it diagnosed properly.

Q: i have a 2008 hyundai sonata?
so i jst got this car not too long ago and i already put 35000 mile on it....i was wondering since im a girl and really dnt knw much about cars if my car is ready fo a tune up

A: 1st, I hope this isn't your first visit to a repair shop for maintenance. At this mileage mark you should need most of the following: Tire balance & rotation oil change brake inspection coolant change transmission fluid inspection wiper-blade replacement air-filter replacement check belts/pulleys top off all other fluids fuel injector additive If you still have your owners manual it will list all the items they recommend at each mileage mark, I suggest you try and follow them closely to keep your car running well for a few years at your current mileage pace.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Sonata- Good car?
My friend bought one, paid $17,000. Was this a good deal, and is this a good car?

A: For a 08 that's a great deal depending on how low the milage is and the condition. My mom has one and it's the bomb!!

Q: daytime running lights on Hyundai Sonata?
Where are the daytime running lights on the 2008 Hyundai Sonata?

A: Same area on the front as the headlights, if your car has them they are on any time the engine is running and cannot be turned off. This was a safety featured to be government mandated, then the government changed their mind and now it is only available on a few models. You can always just switch on your marker or full lights if you like to run them during the day though.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Sonata Driver Side Mirror Housing?
Hello All, Some one hit my driver side mirror while the car is packed and now the housing is cracked and I have to replace that. (I miss old model mirror folding function by the way). Dealership ask for almost 400$ for mirror cover, painting and labor. 1. Do I have to replace the total mirror, of is it possible to replace only the housing. 2. If so, do you know any place on the net, I can get black driver side mirror housing. 3. I have not fix a mirror by myself, but I’m quite alright with fixing stuff. Is it difficult to replace mirror (open up the door interior, etc..) your help highly appreciated.. Sam

A: I have a 2006 Sonata and I have had my eye on this foldaway mirror conversion kit with signal repeaters. It is a bit pricey but I think its worth it. The lack of foldaway mirrors seems kind of dim-witted given the width of the car. Some owners have reported that costs run as high as $600.00 to replace these mirrors. With the conversion kit I have mentioned, you won't have to worry about this sort of thing happening again and you will have the turn signal repeaters as well which would enhance the look of the car.

Q: I bought a 2008 Hyundai Sonata in April and the brakes seem odd?
on the first ice, when I was sliding into the car in front of me, I hit the brakes and got a grinding noise and a shudder - no appreciable slowing of the car. I was able to turn into another lane thank heaven. Standard braking is no problem but I've had several incidents like the first when on snow or ice. I'm not going fast, not hitting the brakes forcefully, just firmly. I had ABS in my previous car, a Saturn 2000 LS, and it never did that. Someone at work told me that ABS will react like that. So is he right or do I take my car in for servicing? Thanks! Thanks to everyone - I only wish I'd had tel02469's advice prior to buying the darn thing!

A: That is evidence the ABS in this Sonata works (grinding and shudders) well so you could turn into another lane, and no collision ABS mal-functed on previous car

Q: Hyundai sonata-Oil change?
Hi, I have a 2008 sonata GLS4. Do we need to take it to a dealer for regular oil change or local auto shop works? Appreciate for your suggestion I am from Europe and new to this country

A: you can take your car to any place you want for an oil change. You can even do it yourself if you want. goto an auto parts store and get 4 quarts of oil and a filter, some basic wrenches/sockets and a drain pan. if the dealer EVER tells you have to have your oil changed with them or it'll affect your warranty, you tell them the Magnussen Act prohibits that statement. they would have to do the oil changes for free to keep their statement true.
