Q: How do I change the reverse / back up light in a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX?
So I love my Sonata but the darn right reverse light has went out. You know, the little white one. So anyway, I need to replace this but I'm not sure how to get to it. Could anyone help me?

A: Open your trunk lid and look up at the inside. You should see 2 small screws for each light at the edge of the lid. Remove these screws and pull the light out. The bulb will be right there.

Q: What store makes copies of the car key for the 2006 hyundai sonata?
Because i went to Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot. They said the didn't have that kind of key yet

A: You can buy a key at the dealer and have it cut there. The dealer I work at doesn't have a key cutter so we send the customers off to a locksmith. However once you have the key, I'm pretty sure places like lowes and home depot will be able to cut it.

Q: Is a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX V6 a good car?
Purchased this last week for $13,000. Has 25,000 miles on it. I have never had a Hyundai before, but was impressed by the warranty, all the features (stability control, sunroof, V6, etc). It is very quiet and runs nice, but I am worried that in the long run could give me problems. I just don't know if I overpaid! Could have gotten a new Corolla for the same price :-/

A: The Hyundai Sonata LXV6 compares favorably to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry; which is why it retails used for the same price as a new Corolla (which is hard to find <16/17K). The Sonata also enjoys pretty good resale rates on the used car market - which is why you paid 13K. Remember, most used cars incur a 2K mark-up at dealerships to cover any repair items, overhead and commissions to the sales folks. It has a very good reputation when compared to much earlier models which were imported in the ealy 1990's. The Sonata is comfortable, has quick acceleration and is an overall good pick as a family sedan that should last many years with proper preventative maintenance. Best of luck on your new car!

Q: Where can I buy an airbag reset tool for Hyundai Sonata 2006?
I've looked on eBay and didn't find anything that works with Hyundai. the module is reset already the airbag light on the instrument cluster is on I am looking for a scanner in order to scan and find the proper and then reset the light

A: Hyundai uses a Hi-scan, hand-held computer to reset the module. NexTech USA Inc 202 Fashion Lane Suite 105 Tustin CA 92780 714-832-0100 http://nex-tek.com/english/product/01.asp

Q: what is the best flowmaster system for a 2006 hyundai sonata?
i want a loud system

A: Any flowmaster will give you a deep throaty sound.I would keep the same size diameter of pipe.

Q: how do i change my fog light in my 2006 hyundai sonata?
i can't see any screws?

A: There are a few different ways. If you have an AutoZone, Carquest, NAPA, Advance, just about any auto parts store in your area and you purchase the light from them they will change it for you. I always watch to see how they do it so next time I remember how to do it. Have you checked your owners manual? With my car and truck all you have to do is open the hood and there is bulbs in the back of the light. Ususally there isn't screws to remove anymore, just a bulb to change.

Q: 2006 hyundai sonata engine whine?
It is a 2006 sonata with 3.3 v6 Engine, I hear noises only when I accelerate between 2000-2500 RPM and in first three gears. I took it to the dealers and they said it was fine. I say thats bull because it is actually pretty loud and can hear it through my stereo

A: You have a problem. 4 cyl had that issue but not the 3.3L. Take it to another dealership...it is under warranty and some dealership will want the work (it should cost you $0!)

Q: 2006 hyundai sonata radio?
I just bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I have 2 questions about the factory radio. What is the specs on it like it's output, can you plug subs into it and stuff like that? Also, I have the volume buttons on my steering wheel and I wanted to know if I bought a new radio, is there a way I can still use the volume buttons on the steering wheel?

A: the factory stereo is an Infinity sound system. It has 7 speakers and a sub while the stock sound system one doesn't have the sub. Its rated at 240w for the standard and I think 310w for the premium. The amplifier in the car is from Panasonic. Its better if you replace the headunit with something from like Alpine

Q: How can i add more horsepower to my 2006 hyundai sonata GLS?

A: You can increase the flow of air into the engine by changing the air cleaner. Put on a momo pipe, add NOS system to the car for an extra 50-100 HP at the flip of a switch.

Q: 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6?
I bought a used 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 ( with a clean record - from carfax ) today and while I was driving home, I noticed the "check engine" light on. The engine seems fine and the car drives exceptionally well. What do you think is causing this problem?

A: Well, since you just bought it today then simply take it back and have the seller fix the problem. Even if you bought from a private seller they should be willing to fix the problem and most used car dealers give at least a 30 day warranty.

Q: 2006 Hyundai Sonata engine?
i purchased a 2006 hyundai sonata 3.3 v6 and noticed how high the rpm are when im doing 60 mph. at 60 the engine is doing around 2400. i think thats a little high. is everyone else's like that?

A: Your Hyundai Sonata should be turning about 1900 rpms when you are doing 60 mph. You might check to see if you have your transmission in 4Th gear, instead of 5Th...it is pretty easy to do, just check your instrument panel, it will tell you which gear your car is in, it is right next to the speedometer. If you see that it is in 5th, I would contact my dealer and find out whats up?

Q: 2006 Hyundai Sonata?
I drive a 2006 Hyundai Sonata (V6) and i do not get city gas mileage better than 17 MPG, are there any options or things that i could do to the engine to improve my MPG?

A: Because of your question and the type of car you have, it would seem your driving habits are more of the problem... Your city driving must consist of a lot of 'start and stop' driving to get such poor gas mileage. When the light turns green, slowly start up - don't punch the gas peddle. When you see the light ahead is red, take your foot off the gas peddle. You don't have to be the first one there to stop his car. You don't need a V6 in the city. You are defeating the purpose of a city vehicle.

Q: 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS?
2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 how would you rate this car

A: First of all for HOTWHEELS -- Hyundai is not a "cheap car" Hyundai is rated as the #3 car in the world for consumer satisfaction and initial quality -- rated behind only Lexus and Porsche (notice Honda and Toyota where not in the top 3) Compared to Camry and Accord: Sonata is roomier, quieter, more powerful, has more standard features (including side airbags in both rows, and electronic stability control), more trunk space, a MUCH better warranty and better crash safety. Excellent value, excellent car

Q: What is ESC controle at Hyundai Sonata 2006?
Why is it the car have more road grip when i turned it off? I just bought Hyundai Sonata and this ESC controle is new for me.

A: ESC - Electronic Stability Control When on it means computer controls more of yaw, lean, etc. Turn it off and its a normal car, seeming like it has more grip. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hyundai Motor America announced today a new initiative to inform consumers of the important life-saving technology found as standard equipment on more than 70 percent of Hyundai vehicles. Beginning in June, all Hyundai vehicles equipped with standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC) will be tagged with a small window decal which reads "ESC: Life-saving technology confirmed by NHTSA and IIHS studies." This effort is intended to help raise awareness for Electronic Stability Control, while underlining Hyundai's dedication to providing this sophisticated technology as standard equipment on the vast majority of its models. "Research universally substantiates that Electronic Stability Control is an invaluable life-saving technology, and Hyundai is proud to lead all popular automotive brands in providing it as standard equipment to our customers," said John Krafcik, vice president of product development and strategic planning, Hyundai Motor America. "Other manufacturers may talk about their commitment to this technology, but at Hyundai, we've demonstrated our commitment by making ESC standard equipment on more than 70 percent of our volume - a higher level of standard ESC than Toyota, Honda, GM, Ford or Volvo." Electronic Stability Control is just one element of Hyundai's commitment to unsurpassed safety, which includes a wide range of active safety equipment to help drivers avoid accidents, and passive equipment to protect all vehicle occupants if an accident can't be avoided. Electronic Stability Control uses sophisticated electronic and hydraulic technologies to help stabilize situations where a driver finds the vehicle veering from its appropriate path - due to slippery surfaces, driver distraction or other causes. In a University of Michigan study released earlier this month, Electronic Stability Control reduced the chance of an SUV being in a fatal accident by 50 percent, while reducing the chance of a fatal rollover by 73 percent. For cars, the system reduced the chance of a fatal accident by 31 percent and the chance of a fatal rollover by 40 percent. Study author John Woodrooffe noted that Electronic Stability Control systems "appear to be the most significant safety advance since seat belts." Additionally, a National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) study reports a 35 percent reduction in single vehicle crashes for passenger cars, and a 30 percent reduction in fatal single vehicle crashes in cars equipped with ESC. For SUVs, the numbers are even higher, with a 67 percent reduction in single vehicle crashes for SUVs and a 63 percent reduction in fatalities2. "Rarely do we see safety effects as large as we're seeing for Electronic Stability Control," said Adrian Lund, president, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. "We encourage all vehicle manufacturers to include this important technology on new models because the research proves it saves lives."

Q: 2006 Hyundai Sonata Audio upgrade...?
i want to add some 6x9 speakers in the back dash of my 2006 hyundai sonata, but when i went to look in my trunk at the bottom of the dash i saw a big metal plate, is it even possible to put 6x9's in the back dash with this metal plate in the way? thanks! if you have any other ideas on working around this let me know

A: you could use some that have a very low mounting depth, or you could cut into the metal but that metal is there for keeping outside noise out of the car, bracing and makes the car stiffer and less prone to flex (if you cut into it, it may affect nothing, or it could weaken the rigidity of the car and cause the rear window to break while going over bumps) i would leave it alone
