Q: What type of gas should i put in my 2003 Hyundai Sonata.?
im not sure what type of gas i should put in my car, somone told me to put the cheapest one,...i also heard of i put the one in the middle i could get better miles per gallon! Help!
A: I've always run regular (87 octane) in my 2.0L Elantra (your car probably has the same engine) after 165,000 miles it's still runs great. I did run some fuel system cleaner in it about 10,000 miles ago, which seemed to help smooth the idle a bit. All Hyundais are built to run on the cheap gas. A little fuel system cleaner every once in a while helps though. It's cheaper in the long run, the STP in a red bottle is just fine. Just pour it in with a full tank of gas.
Q: would a 2003 hyundai sonata beat a mazda 3 hatchback in a race?
A: Ok, well the 4 cyl Sonata has:
Horsepower: 138 hp
Torque: 147 ft-lbs.
and the 6 cyl sonata has:
Horsepower: 170 hp
Torque: 181 ft-lbs.
I think the Hyundai would beat it in the long run
Q: How do I disarm the alarm system on my 2003 Hyundai Sonata?
I have a 2003 Hyundai Sonata and I do not use the alarm system. I used to but I have lost the little mechanism to arm and disarm it. The alarm system came with the car so it is not an after-market alarm system. If I lock my doors without using the key to lock them, my car will not turn on, as the alarm system goes into effect when the doors are locked from the inside. Currently, I can not do anything with my car but sit in it with the music on because for some reason my alarm system is acting up. Obviously I need to drive my car to get from place to place and am sick of dealing with this issue. I can't afford to tow it anywhere to have it disarmed so does anyone know how to disarm a 2003 Hyundai Sonata so that there is no alarm system? Thank you.
A: there should be a "button" on the floor board just up above the pedals, and sometimes to the left of the pedals on the side panel, it is called a "valet switch" and this is where mine is located on my Elantra.

Q: I bought a Hyundai Sonata V6 2003 and I feel there is a little shacking in the back of the Car?
Some Peolple told me its from the tires, What do you think is the problem and the other thing it doesn't start from the first time I have to start the car two time before it work......
A: Sounds like the tires are out of balance. you can also check the wheel bearings. grab the tire and push inwards and pull out with a little force. if it moves you probably have a bad wheel bearing. if it only shakes on bumps then its probably your suspension.
Q: Why wont my 2003 Hyundai Sonata battery hold charge (its new!)?
I changed the battery about a week ago, and it started right up. I did not drive it for a few days and it is dead again. Any suggestions? Maybe the Alternator???
A: My first guess is the alternator but have you checked the fan belt? Is it as adjusted properly? What about things that could be draining the battery? Are there any lights that could be staying on when you leave the car? Interior lights? A trunk light or perhaps a glove box light? If there is a short somewhere you are going to have to get a mechanic to look at it but try the little thing first and save yourself some money if possible.

Q: 2003 hyundai sonata auto trans moves freely while stick is in parking position. ext. connection OK. how to fix
A: That is either a linkage or internal transmission problem that should fall under your 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranty as long as you've kept up with the required transmission service intervals (30,000 mile fluid flush). Go to the Hyundai Owner's website for additional details.

Q: I recently started having a weird sound occur when I press on the breaks of my 2003 Hyundai Sonata. Ideas?
I hear a mixture of weird squeeks and mechanical sounds when I press my break coming to a stop. Sometimes they occur stronger than other times. Sometimes they don't occur. The sound stops when I come to a complete stop, and doesn't continue while the car is idling at a stop. It seems to come from the passenger side of the car near the front from the outside. I haven't heard this sound while accelerating as far as I can tell. I thought maybe it was something scraping against my tire but it doesn't seem to be. I got my state inspection and oil changed last week and the sound only began to occur after it. They did add break fluid though... could this have anything to do with it?
A: Sounds like time for new pads
