Q: Charged $540 to replace the wheel bearings and hubs in the rear of my 2001 Hyundai Sonata. Fair price?
I must say that if the hubs are what I see immediately behind the decorative cover (whatever that is called), they do not look new. They look rusty if anything.
A: The hub would be covered by the rims and drum/or rotor assembly. Can you see the studs that rim slides over? They should look new, unless covered by the nuts that hold the rim on. Price? Where you live makes a difference. Sounds about right to me.
Q: On a 2001 Hyundai sonata, how do can test the PW master switch ?
A: flip it and if you can roll the passenger window down it is broken

Q: 2001 Hyundai Sonata Idles Rough/Shuts Off Intermittently?
Hi! My 2001 Hyundai Sonata has been idling rough/shutting off intermittently for the last 6-8 months, with the "Check Engine" light coming on only about 2-3 months ago. I have tried cleaning the fuel lines, replacing the IAC motor, and, today, replacing the MAF sensor. It seemed like the problem was fixed after changing the sensor, but it started to idle rough again. (The car will idle @ about 800-1000 RPMs, drop down to about 400-600 and then shoot back up again. Occasionally, after driving for long distances and coming to a stop @ a light, the car will just shut off).
I took the car to my local service station to see why the "Check Engine" light was still on, but there were no pending codes. (The light is off now.) Since this morning, I have changed my air filter and tightened the air ducts, but the car is still idling roughly every so often. What am I missing here? Please help!! I can't keep dropping money on parts that are not fixing the problem...
A: Some 2001 2.4L Sonata customers may complain of one or more of the following conditions:
Rough running.
Rough idle.
Lack of power at low rpm.
Check engine light on (DTC P0335 crankshaft position sensor malfunction).
This condition may be caused by the exhaust camshaft coming out of time. A new timing belt cover that incorporates a timing belt guide has been installed on vehicles produced since January 30, 2001.
Vehicles that experience the condition described above should be updated with the new timing belt cover $22.00. See your local Hyundai dealer. There should be codes in the computer's history if the new cover does not solve the problem.
Q: Where can I get a fm/am/cd antenna and a power window lift motor kit for my 2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 car?
Maybe used parts if I can get them
A: try Ebay lots to find there they have it all
Q: I have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata. The codes read p0171 fuel System too lean bank 1. p0134 no O2s activity bank 1?
where is this sensor and is it easy to replace? will that cure the fuel system too lean problem?
thanks
A: Does it have an oil leak by chance? That is usually what takes out these sensors. If it is the case, it will take out any sensor you replace the faulty one with.
An O2 sensor need oxygen to flow through it from the outside air into the exhaust to generate a voltage. So if yours is oily when you take it out, replace the valve cover gasket before you put in the new sensor. Also double check the wiring before you blame the sensor, see if the plug is disconnected, or if any connections are loose or corroded.
Bank one is usually the passenger side on rear-wheel drives, on a front wheel drive its anybody's guess. Whichever side has cylinder #1 on it will more than likely be bank 0, so you'll want the other side. The sensor can be anywhere after the exhaust manifold, but before the catalytic converter.
And by the way, the O2 sensor problem is almost certainly causing the lean condition.
Q: I have a Hyundai Sonata 2001 4 Cl. what kind of engine this car has?

Q: Need info on how to remove a radio from a 2001 Hyundai Sonata.Radio plays when it wants to.?
Radio in auto plays when it wants to sometimes plays for weeks on end and other times will not play at all. Automatic antenna is included and will not work either
A: Go to the hardware store and get this thing called a crowbar.....and hammer it out of there!!!!J/K but you will need some screwdrivers and maye a couple of sockets or socket drivers. First look aound the molding that holds the deck in place for any screws or bolts and loosen then and put in a cup. Pull the ashtray or anything it has under there out and look good! for screws and bolts...remove them. If the molding and deck do not fall out immediately then the molding is probably clipped in place, use a slot(flathead) screwdriver and gently pry the molding off. After that it should be easy to get to the deck and remove it. Might want to get a replacement stereo to put back in...this process is a pain in the ass.
Q: Hyundai Sonata(Facelift) 2001>Wheel Alignment Issue?
First question on Yahoo! I have a 2001 Sonata and a while ago I had to steer to the right to go straight. Got my wheels aligned and that made it worse so I took it to another garage to have them aligned but it is still not right, although it is better. Since having the wheels done at the other garage the steering wheel sometimes shakes (very slightly) when turning or sometimes at 70mph. Has my wheel alignment not been done properly? The first garage I went to, the tech asked which car it was from a list and the car he selected was a Hyundai Sonata 1985 onwards. I am just wondering would the settings the garages are using are wrong and what are the settings if anyone knows or is it a problem with the car?
Thanks
A: wheel and tire cause a car to shake not alignment... that will cause it to pull left or right best way the tell is to let go of wheel it shouldn't jump over fast or just look at your steering wheel that should be level if not they might not knew what they was doing.... id take it some where else ask to have it check
Q: reason 2001 hyundai sonata willnot start not firing.?
A: COuld be almost anything...No crank sensor signal for the computer. Or the computer crapped out.
Q: 2001 Hyundai Sonata Sensor in passenger seat...?
My Mom's Sonata went in for the air bag light that won't shut off. Then she told them that the passenger side seat has a pretty deep burn hole in it (her husband dropped his cigarette on it)Yeah I know...Anyway they said that could have put a short in the sensor. It will cost $600, which she by no means has. And they told her it may affect the air bag from deploying. First of all, we had no idea there was a sensor in a seat and also, will that affect the air bag from deploying? Now I'm nervous. And she has an extended warranty and it doesn't cover this.
The answer I just received has made me feel much better. But my Mom wants me to ask another question, so the burn in the seat could actually affect the sensor. That's actually the coolest thing I ever heard, basically there's a scale in the seat. LOL
Is there a way that the light can be turned off?
A: Extended warrenty does not cover damage caused by a person. Second, Air bag will deploy but at a default pressure. The sensor is only for sensing the weight of the person to minimize the pressure for smaller people.
Q: Is the Hyundai Sonata 2001 a good and reliable car to buy?

Q: 2001 hyundai sonata shakes above 40 mph..?

A: Sounds like it could be in the ignition system.this includes distributor, spark plug cables, spark plugs and ignition timing.Have it checked by a certified tech.
