Q: What is a clutch safety switch on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe?

A: It's a switch which prevents you from starting the car unless the clutch pedal is depressed. Works like a neutral safety switch on an auto transmission.

Q: Can any one advise where can I find an oil filter wrench for hyundai santa fe 2007 (GL).?

A: If you have the 3.3 liter engine, you will need a wrench to remove the cap. Hyundai's part # for the wrench is 09263-3C100-A.

Q: hyundai santa fe 2007 static electricity?
i'm 95% satisfied with my santa fe; the problem is, me and my daughter get static elec charges, both in and out of the car; when closing the doors, and also when touching each other inside the car. what's wrong?? - or rather, what can we do to neutralise it? thank you for the 3 good suggestions. i appreciate them all. this is my first time on yahoo Q's, so i'm happy to get such a nice result. thank you all :)

A: try installing a rubber grounding strap to the vehicle

Q: Thoughts on 2007-8 Hyundai Santa Fe, Veracruz?
I would like to hear from owners of these 2 cars, preferably those equipped with AWD. What do you like and dislike about the cars, and what kind of mileage do you get under "real world" conditions?

A: Well Sun L, I can say that I know a lot of people with Hyundai's and don't have any such problems including myself. But I would like to think that your point is definately made on the basis of some bias research. All car give problems regardless of the brand. I can tell you straight up that I know a lot of Toyota's, Honda's and BMW's that give way more problems than that. Since you are so big on reseach, go check out some other cars (apart from Hyundai's) and just see how many of the have been recalled due to manufacturers defect. Perhaps the problem is not with Hyundai as a whole, but with the American manufactured ones. Trust me my friend, the Korean built ones are way more reliable.

Q: Which is the better car, Hyundai Santa Fe GLS ('07) OR Dodge Caliber SXT ('07)?
My Current Car is a LEMON. While looking into getting a new one, I came across to pre-owned cars. One is a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS w/ 24,134 miles @ $16, 987. The Other is a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT w/ 35,577 miles @ $13, 387. I know nothing on both, so I don't know which is the better car. If you have any comments, or suggestions to help me decide, let me know. thanks. My Current Car is a LEMON. While looking into getting a new one, I came across to pre-owned cars. A: Those new Santa Fe's look really nice and have gotten great reviews/ratings. You can probably get a 2006 Santa Fe with the same mileage for a couple thousand less then the 2007 or the same price if you upgrade to the 3.3L V6 (I would recommend you do that unless you only drive in the city). I would never buy any Dodge product, they have a long history of low quality, lack of reliability and consistently rank low in car reviews. Hyundai's basic warranty is 2 yrs/24K miles longer then Dodge. Both cars are excellent in crashes, but the Santa Fe is much more roomy with nearly identical mpg as both are slow in the 0-60 (9.5 seconds).

Q: Problems With Hyundai Sante Fe?
I just bought a brand new 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. We recently had a big downpour in my area. Every time I go to drive my vehicle now, there is a fog on all the inside windows that takes 5 - 10 min. to go away using the defroster. This has never happened to me in any of my other vehicles, and I want to know what is causing this, and how to fix it! The vehicle is brand new, and I don't think this should be happening.

A: You could have them check the seal, but more than likely this is normal, especially if your car is kept outside or driven in the early morning. Try turning on the recirculating air feature on your air conditioner and see if that doesn't solve your problem.

Q: Will you be able to take the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe stereo and put it into a 2007? (for the auxiliary jack)?

A: Though i do not recommend that, i think its possible. I don't recommend that because usually new stuff don't work properly on old stuff. And there problems will show in time. Like the incident of the Swiss Airlines, they installed a new entertainment system to an old airplane and sadly all passenger died because of that( Its a long story but thats the general point).

Q: If you had to choose between a VW Jetta, a Hyundai santa fe, Toyota rav4, mitsubishi outlander?
or a toyota tundra all 2007'sWhich one would you choose and why? Can you tell I am needing to make a decision. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: Why not throw a Nissan 350Z onto your options list while you are at it. I mean who goes into a car dealership unsure of rather they want a small car, mid-size SUV or full size pickup truck? I would stay away from the Jetta since its kinda expensive for what you get and VW's are pricey to repair and will require repairs after 60K miles. The Mitsu looks nice, but I don't trust them as a brand and they lose value quickly. I wouldn't buy a Tundra unless I worked on a farm or in construction or wanted to haul some motorcross bikes around, its not a commuter vehicle. So, that leaves the Santa Fe and Rav4...hell of a choice there since I love them both. I guess I'd go with the one I could get in my favorite color inside & out and would give me the best price. The warranty doesn't matter since I doubt either vehicle will need it. Both Rav4 and Santa Fe are can't miss mid-size SUV's!!

Q: Why car companies like hyundai and ford taking a stab at luxury car companies like BMW, Land Rover, and Lexus?
for example the 2007 Hyundai Veracrus beats the 2007 Lexus Rx 350, The Hyundai Santa fe defeats the Land Rover LR2 in all tests, Th Ford Edge is faster than the BMW X5, the hyundai sonata has more interior room and the same features as the BMW 323i and costs 10,000 dollars less. If everyone was a fan of the 80's and 90's, every knew what hyundai's were!

A: These Korean companies are trying to strongly enter the market by imitating the big luxury cars. Have you noticed that their cars look a lot like BMW's, Lexuses & Mercedes's? They are trying to gain some market share. They want to show the world that they can build beautiful cars, powerful cars with cheaper prices. But what people should know is that: How many years will the car last? How will the performance be in a let's say 5 years time? All the great car companies like Lexus. BMW, Land Rover, MErcedes .... etc. have the advantage that their cars do not break easily. They last for a very long time. How many Hyundai or Kia cars do you see that are 10 years old? I see none. That's why they still cannot compete with the great car makers, but maybe they will in the future!!!!????

Q: Santa Fe VS. S-10: CAR QUESTION!?
I was just wondering, which car would win in a race, a 2007 DOHC 3.3L V6 24 Valve Hyundai Santa Fe or a 2001 4.3L V6 5 speed RWD S-10 thanks, its a random question but I've been debating this with a friend for a while so I wanna see the answer =)

A: It depends The Hyundai has a horsepower advantage (242hp vs 190hp), and aerodynamic advantage (don't know about speed limiters) so in top speed it has an advantage. The S10 has a weight and power to weight advantage; plus more torque, and would likely accelerate faster initially. In a straight line, i'd give 0-60mph to the S10, ¼ mile close to a tie, and ½ mile to the Hyundai.

Q: Which SUV Should I buy?
I am concidering any one of these SUV's. If you have any opinion on one or any, please answer. 2007 Gmc Envoy SLT, 2007 Toyota Rav4 V6 Limited, 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited, 2007 Mazda Tribute Grand Touring V6, and 2007 Chrysler Pacifica Touring. I forgot to add, the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

A: There are two serious contenders in this class: The GMC Envoy and the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Hyundai ($26,145) is cheaper than the GMC, which is $31,305, so the Hyundai is better value. The GMC is more powerful with the 290hp 4.2L Vortec I6, compared to the Hyundai's 3.3L V6 producing 242hp. The Hyundai is more fuel economical with EPA ratings of 19/25 for both 2WD and 4WD models, while the GMC clocks in 16/22 for the 2WD and 15/21 for the 4WD. In the light of these stats, if you want to just haul people and light cargo around without off-roading or towing, get the Hyundai, but if serious towing and off-roading is involved, the GMC is a better choice.

Q: What is a fair price??
2007 Hyundai Santa Fe limited....i want to buy one but I'm not sure what the smart price to buy is?? any suggestions? i have looked on yahoo motors but i want the public opinion!

A: DO YOUR RESEARCH.......................... End of month is a great time to BUY your new car, but it is NOT the best time to make your first dealership visit. Salesmen do try harder to make sales at the end of the month, which is about the last five days of the calendar month. In addition to the end of the month, there are better and worse times of the year to buy. Best time of the year to buy is the end of December, in most dealerships. Dealerships try to make specific quotas for end of month AND end of calendar year, and it is not a popular time to buy, so sales can slump seriously and they will try harder to make a sale, which means a better bargain. If you shy away from buying in the winter because of bad weather, think again: bad weather is when you WANT to be in the car, testing it’s foul weather capabilities. Other good times of year to buy are end of August and end of September because the old models are taking up space on the dealership property, and they want to make room for the new models to come in. If your heart is not set on a brand new model, this is an excellent time to buy a perfectly good new car that happens to have been manufactured a few months earlier. There is a very important BUT to this end of month advice: Do NOT make your very first visit to the dealership at the end of the month. Go to the dealership at the beginning or middle of the month, test drive the cars, get some info, then go home and give yourself two to three weeks to get the best financing. THEN go back at month's end armed with full information and a buying plan. Give yourself a day or two extra in case the first dealership doesn't work out and you need to go to another one. This is a big purchase, don't try to do it all in an afternoon!
