Q: If I sell my 2008 Hyundai Elantra, will the buyer still have the warranty on it?
Will the 10-year/100,000 mile warranty on my car still apply to the person I sell it to?

A: if the buyer registers his name in the owner book he can enjoy the warranty if not he cannot

Q: I purchased a Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 recently brand new from a Hyundai Dealer?
named Bowers-Hyundai, 139 McKinley Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Anyone had any experience with this dealership. Also, what does the bumper to bumper warranty cover and not cover? This is the first new car I ever purchased from a dealer and the first time, I bought a Hyundai.

A: Not sure why you are asking for dealer experiences after you just bought a car there. Why don't you share your experiences with everyone else on the dealer review section at www.edmunds.com? The bumper-to-bumper will cover basically everything that is not considered 'wear and tear' items. These items include brakes, tires, etc. You should have received a warranty book along with your owners manual that explains everything. If you did not, ask the dealer for one. Be sure to carefully follow the recommended service schedule located in your owners manual. If you do not follow this, then a Hyundai could argue that you were negligible in servicing the vehicle, which could void your warranty.

Q: How fast does a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE accelerate from 0-60 mph?

A: If it's a 5-speed manual it should be able to do it in about 8.5 seconds. The automatic version is probably quite a bit slower, but if I had to hazard a guess I'd say *just* under 10 seconds 0-60.

Q: 2007 Nissan Versa or 2008 Hyundai Elantra??
I currently own a 2007 Nissan Versa with 33,000 miles. I drive this car to the extreme! Between 3,000 - 5,000 a month.. I am looking to trade it in since it is a base model and I owe alot more than its worth. Hyundai dealer has offered me a great deal on a loaded 2008 Elantra $2,000 lower than the wholesale price and to pay me 12,000 for my car! Does anyone know if the Hyundai is a piece of crap? I have heard lots of bad things about them in the past!!

A: the Hyundai Elantra & Santa Fe are great. avoid the accent & tiburon After getting a total makeover for 2007, the 2008 Hyundai Elantra adds more standard equipment including Electronic Stability Control on SE, Brake Assist to the SE and a tire-pressure-monitoring system on all trims. The Elantra SE Premium and Leather Package replace the Elantra Limited.

Q: 2008 Hyundai Elantra, ignition and wheel locked?
I bought a brand new 2008 Hyundai Elantra in January. I drove my car this morning with no problem. I've been home for awhile and a minute ago, I got in my car to go to the store. The key goes into the ignition with no problem, but the key wont turn. It seems to be locked. The steering wheel is also locked and wont turn but maybe an inch in either direction. The car is in park and I jiggled the gear shift to ensure it was all the way in park (it has automatic transmission). I dont know what to do! I have AAA and can call them if necessary but I dont want to have the car towed etc if it's not necessary. What is this? What can I do to fix it?

A: I agree with first answer jiggle the steering wheel while simultaneously turning your key in the ignition. The last time you drove the car you must have turned the steering wheel after removing your key maybe to help yourself out of the car. I believe all cars will lock the steering and ignition when this occurs.

Q: We have a new (9 mos.) 2008 Hyundai Elantra; the dealer says we should replace the Hepa Cabin filter ($80/yr)?
We bought a new 2008 Hyundai Elantra about 9 months ago. Yesterday, when we took the car to the dealer for its 10,000 mile servicing, they told us that we should replace the Hepa Cabin filter. They also said we should replace this annually, at a cost of $80 per year. Should this suggestion be followed? Or is this just another thing the dealers do to add to the profit margin on their new cars? What would happen if we didn't replace the filter, or at least didn't replace it every 12 months? Thanks for any words of experience and advice.

A: It really depends. The cabin air filter filters the air that goes through your vents. If you don't replace it, it's not the end of the world. It just helps you breathe clean air. As for the 10,000 servicing, the dealership I work at does it every 15,000 miles. At this, I see some very dirty filters. I would say it could be dirty, but I wouldn't recommend you replace it until 15,000. If you want to save some money, and you are handy, drop the gove box, the cabin air filter hides behind there. You can pick one up from napa for 15 dollars. But if you are tight on money and this really is hard for you, you don't need to change it. It's just filtering air you breathe. If you are concerned, next time you bring it in ask to see the air filter before they replace it. Don't listen to the william guy who posted, there is a very good chance it needs to be replaced.

Q: Do you think a 2008 gray Hyundai Elantra is a "girls" car?
also what kind of modifications should i make, such as window tint and rims?

A: No. It looks elegant and nice to me. http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/elantra/trim/gls.aspx Modification for rims and window tint , you can check this website; http://www.yourhotcar.com/product/list/All/Hyundai/Elantra/Wheels http://www.yourhotcar.com/product/list/All/Hyundai/Elantra/Window_Tint_Kits

Q: Is $15,580 a good price for a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE?
I'm looking for a new car and I really like the new 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE. I went to the dealer last night and we discussed pricing. The car started at about $16,900 and we got him down to $15,580. Do you think that's a fair price or do you think it's possible I can get it cheaper. Keep in mind that this was SE, but with no sunroof and cloth seats (not leather). It is also with automatic transmission and a rear spoiler.

A: Yes, with freight the SE manual transmission model starts at $17245, there is a $1500 rebate on this model, so it sounds like you've only bargined down $165 off the MSRP. I think you can get the price lower, however if that is the automatic transmission then you've definitely got a good deal, that is worth $1000 more. http://www.hyundaiusa.com/index.aspx

Q: Which is better, 2008 suzuki sx4 sport sedan or 2008 hyundai elantra?

A: I'd go with the Suzuki

Q: Buy a 2008 Scion Tc or a 2008 Hyundai Elantra?
I am buying a new car and I am stuck between a Scion and a Elantra. I was thinking of a Mazda 3, but the model I want is not in my price range. I love the model of the Scion yet I feel that the Elantra will be more reliable and comfortable to drive in since it is 4-door (I never had a coupe before so I am nervous I won't be able to drive in it comfortably). If anyone could give me and information it would be awesome.thanks!!!

A: The Scion is a Toyota. Toyota is legendary for their reliability so their resale value is high. On the other hand Hyundai is infamous for their poor quality, low resale value, and spotty dealer service. If you liked the Mazda 3 did you consider the Suzuki Aerio or the Suzuki SX4? The Suzuki lineup has 7year 100K warranties. The Aerio and SX4 are a Japanese made product, very well engineered, maintaince free timing chains. Even the base cars are feature packed. Take a test drive and you will agree, Suzuki is really the best car deal going.

Q: How much did you pay for Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 Automatic?
Hi, I am considering for a good price for Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 Automatic. I might add some options on it such as mats, mud guard, sunroof, leather and heated seat. I am still looking for the best offer. I don't like to go to the dealer without knowing my average market price. If you just bought Hyundai Elantra SE 2008, please let me know how much you spent out the door. Also, please let me know if you had some extra accecoties that was included with the price. Thanks.

A: You can find the average market price by going to http://www.edmunds.com and looking up the car. The 2008 Elantra currently has a cash back rebate of $1000 http://www.hyundaiusa.com/financing/specialoffers/special_offers.aspx The 2009 models are out now, so if the dealer acts like he won't take extra off last years model then see what price you can get on an 09. Also, some dealers can go lower on price then others, try to find a dealer that sells a good volume of Hyundai's, they get an extra kickback from the factory for selling more. BTW, The Elantra is an excellent choice as Consumer Reports ranks it as good as the Honda Civic and it cost $1000's less. http://www.usnews.com/articles/business/car-reviews/2007/12/05/best-cars-2008-the-thrifty-50.html

Q: How much did you pay for Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 Automatic? - Actual car buyer only please -?
Hi, I asked these questions last week but forgot to mention that I need an actual out of the door price. I am considering for a good price for Hyundai Elantra SE 2008 Automatic. I might add some options on it such as mats, mud guard, sunroof, leather and heated seat. I am still looking for the best offer. I don't like to go to the dealer without knowing my average market price. If you just bought Hyundai Elantra SE 2008, please let me know how much you spent out the door. Also, please let me know if you had some extra accecories that was included with the price and in which state did you buy your car. Thanks for being so helpful and honest.

A: Base MSRP on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE with an automatic transmission is about $17750, invoice is about $16900. Most manufacturers also have something called holdback, which is mark up hidden in the invoice. There is a $1000 rebate currently on the car as well. I would go to the highest volume Hyundai dealer in your area and make an offer on a car that they have in stock $1000 under invoice, or $14900 after the rebate. They will also have a title and doc fee which can range anywhere from $100 to $600 (I'd look for a dealer with a lower fee, its mostly profit for the dealership owner and while they can't negotiate it with you, the lower it is, the better). Depending on your state, you may also need to pay your sales tax or registration fees. Let the dealer know that you will finance through them; dealers make money on financing and a large volume dealer will be more willing to blow a few hundred dollars selling you the vehicle if they know they can get a piece of it back through financing. Usury laws in most states will prevent the dealership from marking up the interest rate more than a point or two which won't drastically impact the monthly payment (although it wouldn't hurt to get pre-approved for a loan through another bank ahead of time to get a general idea of what kind of interest rate you should qualify for). While I've never bought a Hyundai (well, that '89 Excel I guess, but that's really not the same kind of thing), I work for a Subaru franchise with two stores that combined is the second largest Subaru dealer by volume in the country. If we'll whore out a Subaru, another dealer should have no problem whoring out a leftover '08 from a less valuable brand provided you commit to buying it and taking it home that day at that price.
