Q: How do I fold the rear seats down on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra?
I got one half to go down but the other half wont fold down.

A: In the trunk there are the releases to fold the seat.

Q: Should I buy a new 2007 Hyundai Elantra GLS?

A: I actually own an Elantra and it's been a great car. The new generation is better in many ways (gas mileage, roomier, etc) with a proven drive-train. A good pick in the small car category.

Q: Is this a good buy? Hyundai Elantra GLS 2007 for 12968$$?
I have an offer on Hyundai Elantra GLS 2007 for 12968$ from a friend of mine that works in car dealership. Please suggest if this is a good offer to go for with your knowledge and experiences in car shopping. Its an automatic transmission, no radio in it. Brand New and ran for only 40 miles.--Thank You

A: Really would be better if I can know what the MSRP is. Generally I think that a dealer should be able to give you invoice pricing easily. Look to see whether this offered price is close to the invoice pricing. There is another thing, at this time of the year the dealer should give you a better deal than invoice.

Q: 2007 Hyundai Elantra Headlights/Foglights?
Is there any possible way to have the parking lights and the fog lights on at the same time? I really like the way it looks on other cars, but on my Elantra it won't let me put on the parking lights and fog lights on at the same time. Is it possible to get them reprogrammed to do this? Is it something I could do on my own?

A: This is a safety feature for most vehicles. They do not want you to drive with parking lights and driving lights only (sounds stupid to me too). If you have someone that knows anything about wiring you could have the fog lights power wire hooked into the parking light power wire. This is not an easy thing to do so if you don't know then don't try it. It could really short out a computer and they are expensive. Your dealer probably won't do it either. Goo luck.

Q: Bought a 2007 Hyundai Elantra 2 weeks ago. Love the car, not so hot about the gas mileage.?
Will it improve after the engine is "broken in"? about 150 miles a month short trips around town / 150 mile in longer hwy trips. averaging about 22 mpg.

A: As with all vehicles in winter time, the gas formula is changed, and colder dense air reduces engine combustion efficiency; the engine works harder to keep warm because a hot engine burns more completely the fuel it is fed. If it's cold, not all of the fuel vapor gets ignited. There's a cutoff limit to how cold it can get before it is no longer giving you performance gains. For my twin turbo it's something like 50F. That's why an engine runs rich (needs more fuel) when it's first started on a cold morning, and leans out the hotter it gets. But when you're driving, it obviously has to work to keep the engine warm against the cold air that's hitting it. I'm sure everyone notices the strong smell of fuel vapor in the morning when your engine is idling high in the driveway (trying to warm itself up fast), and most of that smoke coming out your tailpipe is unburned (wasted) gas. Using your heater and seat warmers if you have them, my Audi has 4, will also use up power and require the engine to make up for that lost heat. It has a little to do with your engine being new as well, and if you're driving over 55, you won't be seeing those numbers on the sticker adding up to $$ in your wallet. The best mileage is achieved at 55-65MPH. Chevron: Winter weather conditions can combine to lower fuel economy 20 percent, compared with the summer. In cold weather, a richer fuel-air mixture is required to start and warm up the engine. Also, much of the warmup may be done at idle (zero fuel economy) because of the need to defog or defrost windows. (During defogging/defrosting, many vehicles not only heat the air but use the air conditioner to dehumidify it.) More energy is required to overcome the resistance created by the higher viscosities of cold lubricants – engine oil, transmission fluid, and differential lubricant. Head winds increase air resistance; rain necessitates windshield wiper use; water or snow on the road increase tire-rolling resistance;

Q: 2007 Hyundai Elantra GLS?
Im a 16 year guy. Just got intoa car wreck and it wasn't my fault. Insurance is giving me $4750 for my 1995 Eclipse GST. I acutally like the looks of this Hyundai. Also my insurance just dropped fomr 80 to 60 bucks a month for liability. So full coverage will be a little cheaper. anyways,i will have this money to spend on a car. And I think I might finance one. With $4000 down cuz I need 750 to do tags and taxes. Will interest rates kill me. Its about a 14,000 car. What other cars can I get with decent payments

A: Go for the Hyundai. With the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty it'll work well for you for a number of years. I just bought the Vera Cruz over the Lexus, Acura and Nissan. Great cars with great guarantee. Can't beat 'em.

Q: I have a 2007 Hyundai Elantra that has a factory alarm system which goes off for no reason. any ideas? Thanks!

A: Do you know what causes it to go off? I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra that has a similar problem. When I use the remote to lock the doors, and then try to reopen the car with the key then the alarm goes off. The dealership said that they've never seen such a problem, and I've got an appointment to go in and have it fixed so I'll see what happens.

Q: Which car is better...The 2007 Hyundai Elantra or the 2007 Nissan Sentra? Why?

A: Both cars seem pretty good and I would recommend looking at both cars. The Elantra to me has better styling, a strong warranty and attractive prices. The Sentra has more upscale features such as keyless access and starting and wireless cell phone link, as well as available performance models. Although I would purchase the Elantra the Sentra is also worth a look.

Q: does the 2007 hyundai elantra have an interference motor, what's the deal w/the powertrain warranty on a used 1
Want to buy an 07 elantra, Is 100k powertrain warranty something you can get on a used car?I've heard it's for new only. The dealer is offering the remainder of the 5 year/60 k.What is a good price for an automatic GLS w/air/roof/stereo as opt.w/22 k on it?Concerned about timing belt service intervals as well as the reliability of the automatic transmission.Any input on this is appreciated.

A: The 10 year/100,000 mile warranty stays with original owner only, unless the car is a Certified Used Hyundai sold by a Hyundai dealer. The second owner gets a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty which covers most everything on the car with a few exceptions. (Radio covered 3/36, for example). The 2.0 engine IS an interference engine and WILL bend valves, so change the timing belt at 60K. The transmissions on Hyundais are very reliable, so that shouldn't be a concern to you. If it does crap out on you, a reman unit is available from Hyundai and it is very affordable. I drove one for a couple of months as a company car and averaged over 30 mpg.

Q: Can you measure your 2007 or newer Hyundai Sonata or Elantra Steering wheel?
My husband and I are about to kill each other, we are arguing about the steering wheel sizes of the hyundai Sonata and Elantra if anyone has either can you send us the measurements Pa Pa please save us from seriously injuring one another.

A: If you are kidding with us, it is ticklish Tried calling the dealer for advice?

Q: I'm thinking about getting a 2007 Hyundai Elantra SE..is it a good car-overall?
please be honest

A: Hello. I purchased a black on black 2007 Elantra SE about a month ago. I got the upgraded heated seats and moonroof. I traded in a 2005 Hyundai xg350. The car gets great gas mileage, and is pretty quiet inside. The stock sound system is great, and I love the aux-in for connecting any mp3 player that you have. The materials used inside seem to be of great quality. I also purchased a cargo tray to help keep the trunk clean, and mud guards. The total cost was just over $20,000 after taxes, but after my down payment and trade, I only had to pay a few thousand extra. The car is now classified as a midsize, and has more interior/ cargo room than corolla. Overall the car is great, and I don't see much they can improve on. Good luck!

Q: Is this the same procedure for a 2007 Hyundai Elantra...it'd be good to know before I start tearing it apart.?
I need to change the cabin air filter in my 2007 Elantra and wanted to know if I am supposed to go thru the glove compartment to find and the change the filter. I am not car savvy and wanted to do this on my own. I had my 15000 mi check up today and they of course recommended 4 very expensive procedures that I "need" to get done. I want to do as much as I can on my own to keep costs down.

A: Sure it is... I think.... no!! what is your question?

Q: when i have a serious problem with my 2007 hyundai car, to whom may i send my complain?
i have got a new 2007 hyundai elantra from my local agent Ghabbour, the internal lights of the car (front gages, window buttons) turns on and off automatically many times per trip and sometimes it doesn't happen for weeks. i removed the antitheft system from the car to try without it, but the problem occured again.

A: Take to the dealer where you bought it and let them fix it under warranty.

Q: who thinks the hyundai elantra 2007 is a pretty car?
i do

A: I saw them at the showroom when I went to buy my Azera, they were bigger and nicer looking then I expected. The new Elantra seems like it can compete well with the Civic/Corolla/ Sentra/Cobolt/3 of the world and may even be better then a few of them. If I was shopping in the that price range it would be a hard choice between the Mazda 3 and Hyundai Elantra.
