Q: How do you change the transmission fluid on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra?
Is there a plug on the pan and if so where, or do you need to take the pan off which looks like a pain
A: you will be a lot better off letting a shop do this one the pans aren't hat hard to get off but the mess that it will make and the pan is sometimes hard to get to seal back up ,if a transmission shop does it their liable for it,and it doesn't cost that much to get one done at good reputable shop these days, good luck
Q: How hard is it to change a timing belt on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra?
Is this a difficult job? How many hours estimated?
A: Apparently its not that easy to do. I had the timing belt changed on my 2002 Elantra a couple of months ago and took a professional Hyundai mechanic a couple of hours but he knew what he was doing. Apparently if you let it go and the thing gives out it can cost thousands of dollars because it damages other stuff near it.
If you dont do it right you could be up for a lot of money to get it fixed.
Q: Replace the inside handle of my 2003 Hyundai Elantra?
I guess from wear and tear, my inside handle bar broke. It's still a bit functional, but it's about to be UNfunctional very soon, hahaha.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
A: junk yard
Q: 2003 hyundai elantra rear license plate lights out?
How do I check the bulbs or check the fuse? Does anyone know where in the fuse box the fuse is for the license plate light is? I could not figure out which one it is.
A: Easier and more likely the fuse blown
Locate the fuse for the rear license plate
If there is a similar rating spare fuse, swap with it
If no similar rating spare fuse, swap it with another similar rating fuse
Switch on the rear license plate light
If the rear license plate light still not lighted, likely the bulb has blown
Now you need to remove the bulbs and examine them
Sometimes the blown bulbs are darken, by the oxidised filament metal oxides, otherwise you see broken filament within the bulbs
Replace any blown bulbs, and test switching on the rear license plate light again
Q: Alarm in Hyundai Elantra 2003?
I lost the key fob for my 2003 Hyundai Elantra and was wondering how can disable the factory alarm until i get a new key fob, right now if i open the door with a key they alarms goes off and the car will not start...any ideas...
A: Switch the ignition on (red lights on) and leave for 30 seconds. The alarm will stop.
After it stops leave it for an additional 30 seconds then turn key from accesories to the start position and the vehicle will start.
Once you do it once you will not have to do that procedure again.
Q: My 2003 Hyundai Elantra CD player is giving me an Er6 Error but all of my CD's are good. How do I fix it?
A: Try cleaning it with a CD cleaner kit.
Q: 2003 hyundai elantra air bag light is staying on, what should we do?
A: That happened to my 2001 Hyundai Elantra, that is prolly a recalled item, they were having issues with the passenger sensor for the air bag. If you dont get it checked, chances are, it will not deploy in an accident.
Q: 2003 Hyundai Elantra Brake Light.?
Hi, I have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra, and for whatever reason, the brake light stays on most (if not all the time) when I am driving- It doesn't matter if I am driving 20 thru my subdivision or 65 on the major freeway- that light stays on,
What could be wrong?
It is the one by the stelling wheel. The breaks work fine.
The brake stick is always down.
A: check the emergency(parking brake), make sure it's all the way OFF.
Q: How can I sell my car (Hyundai Elantra 2003, 5 speed? I tried autotrader... I want money I owe to the bank-10k
Or if I try to sell my husband's car (Honda Accord 92, 180.000km) what are the chances? No rust, nice car.
I am in CANADA
A: Sorry. In the first place you can't sell a vehicle you don't own, and you don't own that one yet since there is an unpaid loan against it and it has a legal owner. If you got the bank's permission to pay it off and sell it, you wouldn't get anywhere near what you owe on it. No one would pay close to $10,000 for a 03 Hyundai. Keep it, drive it until it won't go any more. That's the only way not to lose money on it.
Q: Has anyone installed 205/50r16 tires on sonata 16" rims onto a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT?
The sonata and Elantra of that ERA [ 2002 TO 2005] have the same bolt pattern and same offset. The sonata has a 16" mag wheel option, whereas the elantra gt is a 15", not very 'gt' like, in my opinion. I'm wondering if this tire & rim combo is still a nice ride, or is it too harsh? The stock tires on the GT are a 195/60r15., the 205/50r16 is actually the same overall diameter according to a michelin catalog.
A: HUH !!!!!!
Why dont you just try it out .......... and let us know if it works.
Q: Where is the dashboard fuse box on a 2003 hyundai elantra??
A: It's on the left part of the dash, where the coin holder is. Just open it up and pulll out at an angle.
Q: 2003 Hyundai Elantra making grinding noises?
I noticed a grinding noise, as if I were dragging a metal object, about 2 months ago and figured it must be the breaks, the noise isn't too loud either. I took the car to get the breaks checked and mechanic said I had plenty of "meat left on my pads" OK! The noise stopped. This week it just started again and it only does it sometimes when breaking and sometimes while driving. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
A: I had two problems with my Elantra that you may be experiencing.
These cars had defective rear wheel bearings from the factory, and that may be causing the noise you hear as grinding. Be sure to mention to the dealer you're aware of this defect, even if you car is out of warranty, or research this, you may or may not get this done as a warranty claim.
A second problem is that the parking brake cables have a rubber protecter on them at the bottom most bend, and these break, causing water and salt to get in the cable harness, causing rust, causing a frozen cable, causing the rear brakes to not fully disconnect and wearing out your pads and calipers. Hyundia Canada would not cover me for these factory defects, and lost me as a future customer. Hyundai US seems to be more sensible about these issues.(?)
Q: Whats a good and not to pricing body kit for hyundai elantra 2003?
