Q: 2008 Toyota Yaris or 2008 Hyundai Accent which is better?
I am going to buy a small car this year and I have narrowed it down to two small hatchback cars the Toyota Yaris and the Hyundai Accent. I have driven them both and I like both of them I just cant decided on which one to get. I narrowed them down to two cars because of the bodystyle I am wanting a two door hatchback and there arent a lot of those on the market there are plenty of four door models but few two doors. I would like anyone that has these cars to speak their opinion or anyone who knows anything about these cars in general.

A: My mom has a 2006 Hyundai Accent (which is almost identical to a 2008 model year) which I picked out for her and drive occasionally, the Hyundai is an outstanding car. The Accent has been trouble free and this car has a lot of nice features that we never would of thought a car in its price range has like 9 cupholders. The Hyundai Accent has a 5 star frontal rating while the Toyota Yaris has a 4 star frontal rating and has curtain side airbags/front side airbags standard while the Yaris's is optional. I think the Accent had a more larger car feel without the larger car disadvantages. Also the Hyundai has far better warranty. I absolutely love this car and only wish my mom would let me drive it more!

Q: 100,000/ ten year warranty on 2008 Hyundai Accent?
Can i use my own mechanics? How to keep full warranty in place? Thanks!

A: Why would you take it to your own mechanics when it is under warranty? You can change your own oil or have it done wherever you wish but do need to keep records so you can prove it was done if necessary. I have taken care of my car and the only time they see it is when I needed warranty work or something I did not want to do. Never have any problems getting the warranty work done. Now I did and I knew it when I did it is void the warranty on the battery. I made some changes so I could put a 5 year battery in instead a 3 year battery and at about 1/3 the cost Hyundai wanted.

Q: Gutterless rack for a Hyundai Accent?
I am needing a gutterless rack (canoes, etc) for my 2008 Hyundai Accent. What is the most economical deal I can find for a Thule, Yakima, etc?

A: Your best bet is to look for a used rack, for instance, through craigslist, newspaper classifieds, or maybe even a used sporting goods store. Unless you're really lucky and find a rack for your exact model car, you'll need to swap out some parts, but that's pretty simple. The main parts of a gutterless rack are: - Foot or tower: This is fairly universal unless you have an unusual car. - "Fit kit": These are clips that go into the foot/tower to make it fit your specific model. You'll probably have to buy a new fit kit for your car, but it should be pretty cheap. - Bars: The bars come in different widths. You can go slightly wider than recommended for your car and they'll stick out a little. - Attachments: For carrying bikes, skis, canoes, etc. Some but not all attachments from one manufacturer will fit the bars of the other (Yakima uses round bars; Thule uses rectangular). You can look on the manufacturers' sites to find out which parts and fit kits you specifically need.

Q: hyundai accent 2008 4 door? ?
i got a brand new car and a lot of people are telling me its a bad car but than other people say its one of the best cars you can have, what do you think?

A: Best new car for the money no doubt. There's only a couple models that compete with it like Chevy Aveo and Toyota Yaris its better then both of them. The Accent is also very cheap to maintain and repair, so its a good choice for basic transportation at a low price.

Q: I have a Hyundai Accent 2008 ( Don't Ask WhY) The repair shop says that I need a clutch cyclinder.?
So I need a Clutch Cyclinder? The repair shop did not say which cylinder, master or slave, needed the repair. I don't trust them because they already told me it was fine a week ago and then it broke down. So I was wondering what causes this, the average cost of replacement/parts, and such info. Let me know if you can help me! Thankx The dealership told me that they are not sure if this is going to fix it but they will know after they replace it. Its under warrantee so they pretty much are stering the boat. I think they are just trying to replace the cheap piece. What are the odds that is my clutch? (NOT WARRANTTEED) Car is. It has a 10y/100gm.

A: get the warranty repair, then let hyundai worry about it if they misdiagnose.

Q: Do I have to be a resident of Quebec to take advantage of the Hyundai Accent $3600 discount?
This is a limited time offer from Hyundai Canada to celebrate 25 years of business in Canada. Start date is February 11th, 2008.

A: I would think so.

Q: Why does my 2005 Hyundai Accent surge while I'm driving?
My Accent, which has 53,000 miles on it, almost always surges when I am driving between 40 and 45 or 60 and 65 mph. This has been happening since November 2008. At first I thought it might be water in my gas tank, but now I'm pretty sure it's something more serious. My Accent, which has 53,000 miles on it, almost always surges up to a higher RPM then it will go back down . It's kind of like it isn't getting enough gas so it is having to work harder. This happens mostly when I am driving between 40 and 45 or 60 and 65 mph. This has been happening since November 2008. At first I thought it might be water in my gas tank, but now I'm pretty sure it's something more serious.

A: When you say surge I need more information. example does it feel like it is in the transmition? Is it coming from the engine? I have been a mechanic for many years, so I will give you some things to look for that anyone with mechanical skills can do. First off have you checked the fuel filter? this is one of the cheapest and simplest thing a person can do. Go ahead and replace it. With 53,000 miles it is do for a new one. See if that helps your issue. IF not, have you checked to make sure the timing is set right.? have you checked to see if the spark plugs are good? I'm not saying this is your issue, I'm just giving you things to check in hopes it will save you money. If you re-post this question with some of the things you have done to help resolve this issue, I will give you more tips on what you can do your self. I hope this helps and good luck to you.

Q: Where is a good place in Dallas to have a keyless entry mechanism installed on my car?
Hyundai dealers don't install them after-market. I have a 2008 Hyundai Accent, no power locks or power windows.

A: you have to get power locks first, not even worth it, keep it old school, its all good

Q: How often Should I change Oil and Filter?
I bought a new 2008 Hyundai Accent about 2 months ago. According to owner's manual, I should change Engine Oil & Filter every 6 months or 6000 KM, whichever occurs first but the Dealer advised me to do the same every 3 months or 3000 KM, whichever occurs first. Who is right? I am in Canada.

A: your dealer would tell you to change it every week if they thought you would pay them to change it. I change mine every 4000 to 4500 miles along with the filter.
